Coursera Little Lemon Project
Project Summary
As part of my Coursera UX/UI Design capstone project, I designed an online table reservation feature for a fictional restaurant, Little Lemon. This project showcased my ability to apply the end-to-end design process — from user research and wireframing to prototyping — to create an intuitive, user-centered experience. It reflects both my UX design skills and product thinking.
Design Process
This capstone project followed the five stages of the design process: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test.
I began by empathizing with potential users to understand their motivations, goals, and frustrations around online table reservation, utilizing user personas and journey maps to visualize their experiences and guide design decisions. The journey map created a visual representation of the user's interaction with the feature which helped uncover pain points and opportunities for improvement.
From these insights, I moved into the define phase, where I identified key user needs and prioritized features that would deliver the most value. This step mirrors product ownership responsibilities like feature prioritization, sprint planning, and writing user stories — providing a clear foundation for building out a backlog.
During the ideation phase, I explored creative solutions to address user pain points, starting with low-fidelity sketches to visualize potential features and user flows. While this would typically involve collaboration with stakeholders and engineers, I independently made design decisions and guided the vision forward.
In the prototype phase, I transformed the wireframes into high-fidelity mockups in Figma, creating an interactive, testable design. Finally, in the test phase, I iterated on the prototype based on feedback and usability insights.
This solo project highlights my ability to manage the full design and development lifecycle, think strategically like a product owner, and apply user-centered design principles to deliver a thoughtful, functional user experience.
